Pamela Cockcroft-Lasserre studied Fine Art in London, England, teaches at the Ottawa School of Art, paints and draws mainly from the figure in association with movement and music, including a series on Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", another on Tango and currently working on a carousel theme. Her Studio practice based on European drawing and painting techniques explores the relevance of the figure and its abundant potential for contextualisation. Therefore, well researched themes,
often embracing music and movement, situations proper and sometimes absurd determine the trajectory of her paintings. These are nourished by a continuous preoccupation with drawing the model, plain and simple.
